Mar 15, 2011Linda Allen has retired from her position as Director, Pasco County Library System, Hudson, FL, after 23 years of service to the library. She became director in 2002.
Anita Carroll is the new Director, Middletown Public Library, OH. She succeeds Doug Bean, who retired from the position he held for 38 years. Carroll formerly was Director, Franklin-Springboro Public Library, OH.
Melody Sky Eisler, formerly Supervisor Librarian, Boise Public Library, ID, is now Manager, Silverdale Branch, Kitsap Regional Library, Bremerton, WA, effective March 1.
Ahniwa Ferrari joined the Pierce County Library System, Tacoma, as Virtual Experience Manager, effective March 1. Ferrari was Online Resources Consultant, Washington State Library.
Mercedes Gaines has retired after 27 years with the Cape May County Library, NJ. She was Head Librarian of the Woodbine Branch since it opened in 2007.
Georgiana Huizenga, Director, Harris-Elmore Public Library (HEPL), OH, will retire March 31 after 41 years of service. She will be succeeded by Amy Laity, currently HEPL Assistant Director.
Randy Kiefer is the new Executive Director, CLOCKSS Archive, assuming the first full-time position for the year-old digital preservation organization. He was Director of Subscription, Membership, and Technical Services for INFORMS.
Chang Liu is now Director of Library Services, Loudoun County Public Library, Leesburg, VA. Formerly Associate Director, District of Columbia Public Library, Liu succeeds Douglas Henderson, now Director, Charleston County Public Library, SC.
Julie Rinehart is retiring from Berks County Public Libraries, Reading, PA. She has been Director for 21 years.
Gary Shaffer is the new CEO, Tulsa City-County Library, effective January 5. He most recently was Director of Communications, Outreach, and Special Services, Sacramento Public Library. He is a 2006 LJ Mover & Shaker.
Koren Stembridge has been appointed Director, Cary Memorial Library, Lexington, MA, effective March 1, taking over from the retiring Connie Rawson. Stembridge was Director of Partnerships and Communications, Boston Public Library. She is a 2009 LJ Mover & Shaker.
Anthony Taormina recently retired from Lodi Public Library, NJ, where he had been Director since 1986. Taormina began working at the library as a page at the age of 14.
