Books about Latino teens
January 28, 2008
Today you are in for a short and sweet treat. Young Adult collection development teams of the world, check this out!
REFORMA's Children's and Young Adult Services Committee (CAYASC) just released a YA Latino Bibliography. The beauty of it is that the bibliography is the result of a compilation of titles posted to the REFORMA listserv by librarians like you and me!
These librarians are in constant communication with customers, listening to their requests and to what they would like to see on the shelves. It is definitely not a case of ‘what I think they like,’ but these are the books they really like!
The list includes very popular books, award-wining ones, and books about gay and lesbian YA Latinos such as Get It by Alex Sanchez and Hard Love by Ellen Wittlinger.
There are titles for and about everyone in our community. Don’t miss it!
