Public Library Association Conference- Loida’s picks
March 12, 2008
The Public Library Association 12th National Conference is coming up in two weeks. This year, we all go to Minneapolis to enjoy great weather.
I live a very busy life and I am always planning way ahead of time. This past weekend, I looked at the conference preliminary program and compiled my wish list:
Pre-Conference: Spanish Language Outreach
Tuesday, March 25 / 8:30am to 5:30pm
Pre-Conference: Bridging the Divide: Libraries Transform Communities
Wednesday, March 26 / 8:30 am to 12:00pm
Caught in the Middle: Immigration Controversy and Library Service
Thursday, March 27 / 8:30am (I am speaking on this panel!)
How Branding can Increase the Relevance of Your Library
Thursday, March 27 / 2:00pm
Bilingual Subject Headings for the 21st Century
Friday, March 28 / 8:30am
Partnering to Recruit and Educate New Librarians
Friday, March 28 / 2:00pm
Twenty Cultures, One Voice: Nuances and Challenges of Marketing Library Services to the Hispanic Community
Saturday, March 29 / 10:15am
PLA is going paperless so, don’t look for handouts because there will be none. Instead access the PLA page and save documents on your laptop. They will be available shortly before the conference.
See you @ PLA!
