Sweet, J.H.

Gr 2-4–The first in the Fairy Chronicles Series is the story of Beth, the marigold fairy. She is not looking forward to spending two weeks with her Aunt Evelyn, that is, until she learns that both she and her aunt are fairies! Beth quickly learns how to fly and to use her wand, and when Aunt Evelyn takes her to the fairy circle to meet the rest of the fairies, she learns about the Feather of Hope, which has been stolen by Gremlins. The fairies must retrieve it before all hope on Earth is gone, and with the help of Beth’s dog Peanut, they set out on a mission to do just that. A fast-paced, fun story that introduces the series’ characters and settings and sets them up for future adventures. Bright, full-color illustrations make this is an attractive title with wide appeal for younger fantasy fans. Recommended for all libraries.
