Capstone Acquires Heinemann-Raintree

School Library Journal, 9/23/2008 -- Críticas, 10/1/2008

Capstone Publishers, a publisher of children’s books, including bilingual titles, for school and public libraries, has acquired the assets of the Heinemann-Raintree library reference imprints from the international media company Pearson.

Heinemann-Raintree, a library and classroom publisher of more than 6,000 pre-K to secondary nonfiction titles, has offices in Chicago, IL, and Oxford, England.

With Heinemann-Raintree’s sizeable presence in the U.K. and worldwide, this acquisition will extend Capstone’s international market.

“We are very excited to have these imprints become part of the Capstone Publishers family. Our commitment to innovation and serving librarians and classroom teachers is strengthened with this acquisition,” says Tom Ahern, Capstone’s CEO. “The opportunities have broadened as we now can offer more of what schools and libraries need, while expanding our international reach.”
