PreS +–Full of surprises, this book folds like an accordion and is packaged in an appealing slipcase. Once the story is finished and the book closed, readers can flip the copy over and read the same story from another point of view on the reverse side of the pages. One side of the book tells the story of a boy who finds a rubber ducky and explores the many fun things he can do with it (he uses it as a hat, a whistle, and even as a bathtub stopper). The reverse side of the book tells the story of a duck that finds a boy who turns out to be quite useful (he uses the head of the boy as a perch, is delighted to receive so many kisses, and is happy to find a comfortable place to sleep in the bathtub). With simple black-line drawings on a yellow and blue watercolor background, this visually stimulating title creatively shows how the same event can be interpreted differently. Tener un patito es útil was selected by AIGA (American Institute of Graphic Arts) as one of the best “50 books/50 covers” of 2007. Recommended for school and public libraries, as well as bookstores.
