K-Gr 2–It’s a lovely bathroom. And the little pig who waltzes in is ready to make full use of it. She undresses, admires herself in the mirror, wraps herself up in a fluffy towel, and…in comes her mom and baby sibling. Wrapped in her towel, the protagonist crankily waits through the baby’s bath, in the midst of which her younger brothers, and then her dad, and then the cat appear…. Despair! But everyone does leave. With a shout of “La puerta!” (The door!), her father closes her in, and her shower at last begins. The ink-and-watercolor cartoon illustrations carry this wordless book with elegance and economy. The emotions, which are clearly reflected in the main character’s facial expressions and body language, will resonate with children—or anyone, really—who lives in a one-bathroom house. Charming and amusing, if slight, this is an appealing addition to family or library collections.
