PreS-Gr 2-This carefully crafted volume will help young readers understand this familiar yet complex emotion. Using simple and direct language, a young bunny explains that he sometimes does silly things or acts out in response to his jealousy. But when he talks about it with friends and family, he learns to understand why he feels this way. With classic examples such as sibling rivalry and a friend’s new toys, abilities, and talents, the young rabbit ultimately realizes that friends and family love him for being himself. Tellechea, who has a Ph. D. in Social Anthropology and specializes in translations for social-sciences oriented books, clearly and tactfully articulates the protagonist’s feelings. Vivid colors, simply shaped animals, and familiar actions add visual clues for the younger readers; and a succinct and appropriate author’s note gives insightful tips for parents. Recommended for all school and public libraries.
