Gr 5+-The wonderful narration by Karl Hoffmann brings the extraordinary world of Narnia to life. In this the second book in the series, a year have passed since the Prevensie children’s adventures there. Peter, Susan, Edmund, and Lucy find themselves at a train station awaiting their return to boarding school when they are suddenly, transported back to Narnia. They discover that 1,300 years have gone by since their last visit, and Narnia has been conquered by the Telmarines, whose evil King Miraz rules the land without mercy. His armies are in search of his nephew, Prince Caspian, the rightful heir to the throne, who is forced to hide after several plots to assassinate him. Again, the siblings are thrown into the battle between good and evil. They embark on a journey to find Aslan and rescue Narnia from the tyrant Miraz. With the help of a kind dwarf, a courageous talking mouse, Prince Caspian, and a badger, they restore magic and glory to the land. Highly recommended for school and public libraries.
