PreS-Gr 1–While her mom is getting her hair done, Minji imagines that her bedroom is her own salon. She brings the dog in and attempts to color and style his hair using many different colored paints, as well as other unique items such as crayons and ice cream. Predictably, the scene becomes a mess by the end. When mom comes home, she is quite…surprised. In a welcome ending, Minji’s mother understands, enjoys, and encourages her daughter’s creativity. The soft acrylic illustrations enhance the text by showing simultaneously what is happening at the real salon and at Minji’s. A nice look at a child’s imagination at work, this simple, fun story fits into any Spanish-language collection in school and public libraries.
