Gr 3-5-These well-organized biographies are ideal for young report writers. Each title begins with the subject’s childhood and slowly moves into the details of his adult life, giving plenty of information in a concise straightforward manner. With a timeline continuing along the bottom of each spread, helpful insets, and eye-catching photographs throughout, these titles make attractive additions. While the quality is strong in all of the titles, Mandela is slightly more interesting as it includes brief insights into South African history and government. Leonardo focuses on Da Vinci’s many artistic works and how they came about. Galileo also looks at the man’s work and the controversy surrounding it. Other titles in the series include Alejandro Magno, Marco Polo, and Marie Curie. Highly recommended for all libraries with nonfiction Spanish collections.—Roxanne Landin, Ferguson Library, Stamford, CT
