IPG Expands Spanish Sales Team
By Aída Bardales -- Críticas, 10/15/2006
Independent Publishers Group (IPG) announced the addition of a new sales representative to their Spanish-language books sales team. Miraida Morales will deal with IPG’s traditional and nontraditional sales channels for Spanish-language books. “The hiring of Morales represents a major advance in…growth for IPG publishers in the Spanish-language marketplace,” said Jeff Tegge, Vice President of Sales, in a press release last month. Prior to joining IPG, Morales was the international sales coordinator at Publishers Group West.
Morales told Críticas that in this new position she hopes to “make IPG the first distributor people think of when purchasing Spanish-language titles.” Morales was born in Puerto Rico and lived and studied in Mexico before settling in the United States.
IPG distributes a wide variety of Spanish-language publishers, including Blume, Combel, Villegas, and Ediciones B. The list features original works in Spanish, best sellers in translation, and children’s books.
