APA to Award Annual Audie to Spanish-language Books
by Aída Bardales -- Críticas, 7/15/2006
Audies® Judges have decided to create an annual award for Spanish-language audiobooks. Traci Cothran, the Audies® judges chair, told Críticas the decision was made in response to the high number of entries the American Publishers Association (APA) received for this year's special award. Judges met after this year’s award ceremony at BookExpo America to plan next for the 2007 event.
The award will cover all genres of Spanish-language titles. Cothran said that “there may be opportunities in the future for The Audies® [award for Spanish-language titles] to grow with it, as we have done with other categories.” She added that it all “really depends on the market and number of new titles published each year.”
