Grupo Planeta has announced its plans to partner with Harvard Business School Press (HBSP) to make available Spanish-language editions of HBSP titles. The new collections will initially be featured in HBSP “boutiques” in Hudson airport stores across the United States.
The collection will initially feature six titles—including George Stalk’s Cómo jugar duro (Hardball) and Robert Kaplan and David Norton’s El cuadro de mando integral (The Balanced Scorecard)—and will expand with the release of 18 new titles in the coming months. “The HBSP boutiques are one of the first efforts to showcase Spanish titles outside of the traditional Spanish-language book sections,” said Marla Norman, Planeta’s U.S. Sales Director based in Miami. “We’re pleased to be part of a significant trend within the Spanish-language market.” Planeta already distributes the translations of over 90 HBSP titles throughout Spain and Latin America.
This will be the first time Spanish-language editions of HBSP titles will be available in the United States. “The audience for our books has grown exponentially in recent years, and the translation market has been a major part of that growth,” said Todd Berman, U.S. Sales Manager for HBSP. Plans this year also include the expansion of HBSP bilingual boutiques to general bookstores. The bilingual collection is targeted to launch on August 1.
